After years of close finishes and near misses, FSU softball reached the promise land in 2018 by winning their first NCAA National Championship. The No. 6 Seminoles made a gutsy comeback through the loser’s bracket to defeat No. 5 Washington in the Women’s College World Series for the title. Led by Meghan King, Jessie Warren, Anna Shelnutt, Elizabeth Mason and coach Lonni Alameda, the “Cardiac Kids” thrilled fans with big wins, record-setting performances and the ultimate series victory.
