WARREN’S BIGGEST MOMENT
Jessie Warren was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2018 Division I Women’s Softball Championship after delivering across both games of No. 6 FSU’s title-clinching series against No. 5 Washington in Oklahoma City. In Game 1, Warren’s two hits and defensive awareness at third base helped preserve a 1-0 shutout victory. In Game 2, after an early defensive miscue contributed to Washington’s opening runs, Warren responded immediately at the plate, leading off FSU’s first rally with a single to left field. She later drove in a key run with an RBI single through the left side and capped the night with a no-doubt home run to center field, helping the Seminoles pull away for an 8-3 win. Warren anchored a championship run that secured the program’s first NCAA softball national title.
