MIRACLE NOLES: 1972 CHAMPIONSHIP RUN

The Cinderella Seminoles made a postseason run for the ages in 1972. After knocking off Kentucky to win the Mideast Regional title, FSU stunned North Carolina in the Final Four to advance to the first — and only — NCAA Championship Game in program history. Coach Hugh Durham, F Ron King, C/F Reggie Royals and C Lawrence McCray met the dynastic UCLA Bruins in the final, setting up one of most notable games in Seminole history.
