FSU’s title game box score captures a five-point finish at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. G Ron King led all scorers with 27 points, F Ron Harris added 16 off the bench and C/F Reggie Royals posted 15 points with 10 rebounds. The Seminoles outscored the eventual champion Bruins 37-31 after halftime but fell 81-76 in a game defined by rebounding and late-game execution. UCLA’s legendary coach John Wooden applauded FSU’s physicality and athleticism, saying “From a physical point of view, Florida State is an exceptional team. Very quick.”
