SAINT BOBBY: COACH BOBBY BOWDEN
No individual has impacted FSU football more than Bobby Bowden. Over three-plus decades, Bowden transformed a middle-of-the-pack team into one of the greatest programs in college football history. Coach Bowden was a winner, collecting 304 wins with the Seminoles and 346 over his College Football Hall-of-Fame career. He guided FSU to the program’s first two National Championships in 1993 and 1999. He also led the Noles to a record of 14 straight top-5 finishes in the AP poll and was head coach for much of FSU’s streak of 36 consecutive bowl games. As a man, Bowden was known for his faith, mentorship and his unwavering belief in his players and staff, just as much as for his signature gambler hat. The Seminole program today is a testament to “Saint Bobby’s” legacy.
