THE SUNSHINE STATE TIPS ITS CAP

On April 7, 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis issued an official proclamation declaring the date as “Bobby Bowden Day in Florida.” The honor celebrated Bowden’s extraordinary legacy as a coach, mentor and role model. The governor also awarded Bowden the prestigious Governor’s Medal of Freedom in recognition of his lifelong impact on college football and the lives of countless players, fans and Floridians in general. Tallahassee is home to both FSU and the state capitol.
