Five Seminoles were honored on the 2018 Women’s College World Series (WCWS) All-Tournament Team following FSU’s National Championship run in Oklahoma City. Jessie Warren was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after tying a WCWS record with 13 hits and delivering key defensive plays at third base. P Meghan King anchored the pitching staff, throwing a seven-inning shutout in Game 1 of the finals and finishing the championship series with dominant control in the circle. Catcher Anna Shelnutt provided decisive power, including a solo home run that accounted for the only run in the 1-0 victory over Washington in Game 1. Freshman shortstop Sydney Sherrill made history by tying an NCAA single-season record with 29 doubles in 2018 and contributed steady defense throughout the tournament. C Elizabeth Mason added timely offense, homering in the championship clincher and driving in runs as FSU secured the program’s first NCAA title.
