PRIME TIME FOOTWORK
These game-worn cleats belonged to Deion Sanders, whose legendary career at FSU from 1985 to 1988 transformed him into one of the most iconic figures in college football history. A two-time consensus All-American, Sanders was a lockdown cornerback who also thrilled fans as a punt returner. At the end of his Noles career, Sanders set several program records: four interception returns for touchdowns, 126 punt returns and 1,429 yards on punt returns. His 14 interceptions remain in the top-3 in program history today. Sanders’ flair, confidence and talent made him the face of coach Bobby Bowden’s rising powerhouse program in the late ’80s. He later became a two-sport pro athlete, starring in both the NFL and MLB, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame. On October 7, 1995, FSU retired Deion’s No. 2 jersey.
