PITCH PERFECT

Righthanded hurler Kathryn Sandercock collected an array of awards in the 2023 season. In addition to All-American, ACC Pitcher of the Year, ACC Tournament MVP and ACC First-Team honors, Sandercock was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. Her most outstanding performance came on May 21, 2023, in the Regional against South Carolina. Sandercock threw the first perfect postseason game in program history — no hits, runs or walks allowed and five strikeouts over seven innings pitched. With the 1-0 victory, the Seminoles advanced to the Super Regional. “We knew how much we had to lose and I wasn’t going to give an inch,” said Sandercock. “I just wanted to go out there and be confident.” The outing was FSU’s first perfect game since 2018. It was Sandercock’s fourth career no-hitter (two were combined), making her one of the top pitchers in program history.
