PERFECT SEASON, HISTORIC STADIUM
Date: 1950 Season
The 1950 team was the first in program history to complete an undefeated, untied regular season. Finishing 8-0 overall, the Seminoles claimed their third straight conference title. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, they became the first team from Florida to finish a season unbeaten and untied. That season also marked a turning point for the program’s facilities: on October 7, 1950, FSU played their first game in the newly constructed Doak Campbell Stadium, defeating Randolph-Macon 40-7. The stadium would go on to become one of the most iconic venues in college football and the lasting home of the Seminoles.
