NUMBERS DID THE TALKING
Hailing from the small town of Hahira, Georgia, J.D. Drew arrived at FSU without the national hype that often follows elite recruits, but it did not take long for his bat to command attention. Playing for the Seminoles from 1995 to 1997, Drew produced one of the most statistically dominant careers in college baseball history. He finished his FSU tenure with 267 hits, 254 runs scored and 257 RBIs. In 1997, Drew set an NCAA DI record by hitting 30 home runs and stealing 30 bases in a season. He was later named to the College World Series All-Decade Team, voted eighth in Baseball America’s Collegiate Player of the Century poll and inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003, solidifying his place among the most accomplished players ever to wear Garnet and Gold.
