MAKING HIS OWN NAME
Nick O’Leary is no stranger to big athletic feats — he’s the grandson of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. Even with his famous family ties, O’Leary made a name for himself on the football field. In the 2014 season, the senior TE had 48 catches for 618 yards and six touchdowns. He was also regarded as one of the best blocking TEs in college football. Fittingly, O’Leary won the John Mackey Award as the nation’s most outstanding tight end. “We have a lot of weapons on our offense,” said QB Jameis Winston. “But the one who never gets enough credit is Nick O’Leary. … That guy is pretty special. Everybody on our team knows it.” At the end of his FSU career, O’Leary was the program’s leader among TEs in receptions (114), yards (1,591) and touchdowns (18).
