LAST SECOND HEROICS
Date: January 6, 2014
Jameis Winston put on this helmet while quarterbacking the Seminoles in the 2014 BCS National Championship game. Down by four points with 79 seconds left, Winston led the team down the field, tossing a 2-yard touchdown to WR Kelvin Benjamin and securing FSU’s third National Championship in program history. For his winning efforts, Winston was named the Offensive MVP of the game. It was another award to add to his overflowing trophy case that season, which included the coveted Heisman. Head coach Jimbo Fisher praised the quarterback, saying, “It was the best football game he’s played all year and I’ll tell you why, because for three quarters he was up and down and he fought.”
