GOALS FOR THE NOLES

No Seminole scored more goals than F Onyi Echegini during the 2023 National Championship season. She led the team with 16 goals, joining the likes of FSU legends Dagny Brynjardottir, Selin Kuralay, Jessica Price and Sanna Talonen for a single season. Echegini also posted a team-high 37 points (tied with F Jordynn Dudley). The redshirt senior from London, England, scored three times during the NCAA Tournament, including the final tally in the 5-1 victory over No. 3 Stanford in the College Cup Final. Echegini became one of the most decorated players in program history after that historic season, winning the MAC Hermann Trophy and Honda Sports Award along with ACC Offensive Player of the Year honors. She ended her career with 26 goals, at the time the eleventh-most in program history — an impressive feat considering that she spent only two seasons wearing Garnet and Gold. “[At FSU] I’m surrounded by some of the best people in the country every single day who are going to push me,” Echegini said.
