TOTAL DOMINANCE

As confetti rained down at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, the Seminoles celebrated the fourth National Championship in program history. FSU had just completed their first undefeated campaign (20-0-1), the only blemish a 3-3 tie with North Carolina in historically tough Chapel Hill. The Noles had nine victories over ranked teams that season, including three wins over conference opponent Clemson — a regular season match, the ACC Championship and the College Cup Final Four. No. 1 FSU scored five goals against No. 3 Stanford in the title game, a massive statement against a squad that had allowed just nine goals to that point in the season. The Seminole defense also limited Cardinal, a team averaging an NCAA-best 24.00 shots per game, to just five shots in the championship match. From offense to defense, and coaching to team chemistry, Florida State totally dominated the competition in 2023.
