CORUM’S VOLLEY TO THE SWEET 16

A fast start, a quick answer and one fearless finish sent FSU to their first NCAA Sweet 16 with a 2-1 win over Florida on the road. Senior D Rachael Watkin put FSU ahead in the 6th minute, and after the Gators responded almost immediately, the Seminoles struck again early in the second half. Freshman F/M Summer Corum turned a high service into the match-winner with a volley that held up through a late Florida push, backed by composed goalkeeping from co-captain Sarah Crawford. Corum captured the moment best: “I would never of dreamed I would hit the game-winning goal that sends us to the Sweet 16.”
