COMING UP POSEY

After leading FSU to a 54-12 record and a second consecutive ACC Atlantic Division championship, star catcher Buster Posey received the 2008 Dick Howser Trophy. A consensus All-American, Posey was chosen from a field of more than 700 nominees across the country. He was just the second catcher to win the honor of the nation’s most outstanding baseball player. The trophy holds a special place in Seminole hearts as it is named after the FSU baseball legend. “Buster Posey epitomizes the spirit and persona of Dick Howser,” said Howser Trophy Committee chairman David Feaster. Posey became the second Nole to win the award after J.D. Drew in 1997.
