COASTING TO ACC CHAMPIONSHIPS

When FSU softball joined the ACC in 1992, the program made an immediate impact. The Seminoles came out on top of the standings in the regular season and won the tournament championship, the first of 10 ACC Tournament titles under Dr. JoAnne Graf’s leadership. Dr. Graf would go on to win six ACC Coach of the Year Awards herself. In 2002, the ACC named the top 50 greatest softball players in conference history. The list included 24 Seminoles — quite an accomplishment for a program that had been part of the ACC for just a decade. Dr. Graf laid the foundation for the program to thrive in the tough ACC, where the Noles continue to find success today.
