In 2019, FSU honored Dr. JoAnne Graf by naming their first home tournament of the season after the esteemed coach. The inaugural JoAnne Graf Classic was held in early February, with the Noles winning all five of their games — including four shutouts — in the competition. Dr. Graf threw out the first pitch before a game on the second day of the tournament. “You are talking about a legend, not just at Florida State, but in the entire game of softball with how she has grown the game around the country. So many teams have come down to Tallahassee over the years because of the relationship they have with her,” said head coach Lonni Alameda, who succeeded Dr. Graf in 2009.
