A SWEET PATCH

This style of Nokia Sugar Bowl patch was worn from 1995 through 1999, an era when FSU made three trips to New Orleans (1995, 1997 and 1998). Each matchup showcased the Seminoles at the height of their dominance in the 1990s. In the 1995 Sugar Bowl, QB Danny Kanell led FSU to a 23-17 victory over Florida. In 1997, FSU fell to Florida 52-20 in a national title showdown that gave the Gators a championship. The 1998 Sugar Bowl saw QB Chris Weinke and FSU take on Ohio State, winning 31-14 behind a stout defensive effort and a breakout performance from WR Peter Warrick.
