36 SECONDS TO ORANGE BOWL GLORY
Date: December 30, 2016
The 2016 Capital One Orange Bowl delivered a wild finish at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. After No. 6 Michigan moved ahead 30-27 with less than two minutes remaining, WR Keith Gavin returned the ensuing kickoff 66 yards. QB Deondre Francois then found WR Nyqwan Murray for a 12-yard touchdown with 36 seconds left to play, ultimately lifting the No. 10 Noles past the Wolverines, 33-32. Murray also caught an Orange Bowl-record 92-yard touchdown, while Orange Bowl MVP and RB Dalvin Cook amassed 207 yards from scrimmage. The victory completed a 10-3 season and marked FSU’s fifth consecutive appearance in a New Year’s Six or BCS bowl.
