SWEET FINISH TO AN ACC SWEEP

An 11-win campaign defined Florida State’s 1997 season, which produced an 8-0 ACC Championship run and a No. 3 final ranking. The Seminoles won their first 10 games, highlighted by a 47-0 home shutout of Miami and a 20-3 road victory over No. 5 North Carolina. On January 1, 1998, No. 4 FSU closed the campaign by defeating No. 9 Ohio State, 31-14, in the Nokia Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Sugar Bowl MVP and WR E.G. Green caught seven passes for 176 yards, while the defense intercepted three passes and recorded six sacks.
