FIGHTING TILL THE END
Three seasons after winning the 2018 National Championship, the Seminoles made another deep run in the NCAA Tournament. No. 10 FSU rattled off five straight wins in the Regional and Super Regional to clinch their spot in the Women’s College World Series (WCWS). After a tough loss to No. 2 UCLA, the Noles were back to their winning ways with victories over No. 11 Arizona, No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 3 Alabama. FSU became just the third program to lose the first game of the WCWS and make it to the finals through the losers bracket. In the championship series, FSU fell short against No. 1 Oklahoma to become national runner-up. Former C Billie Anne Gay said that “this team is selfless and has confidence in each other,” a testament to FSU’s grit and teamwork all season.
