In 2023, P Makenna Reid compiled one of the best individual seasons in program history. The southpaw had a perfect 13-0 record, a scorching 0.97 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 79.1 innings, while her six saves set a team record for most by a freshman. Reid, who had only three starts all season, made her Women’s College World Series debut as a starter against No. 7 Washington. She allowed just one hit from the six batters she faced in the 3-1 victory. Reid added one more inning of work in the first WCWS National Championship game, where No. 3 FSU fell 5-0 to No. 1 Oklahoma.
