WILLIAMS ON THE WING

Forward Cheyna Williams pushed past a Virginia defender during the 2014 NCAA College Cup Final. Known for her pace and physicality, Williams was a constant threat down the flank, stretching the defense and creating chances throughout the 1-0 victory that delivered No. 2 FSU’s first national title. Williams was named the 2014 College Cup Most Outstanding Player on Offense with two goals in the Final Four against No. 3 Stanford and an assist in the National Championship game against No. 4 Virginia. After the championship, Williams reflected on the team-first mentality of the squad: “We just wanted to finish the job — and we did.”
