Seminole fans were not the only ones who admired standout quarterback Charlie Ward. The Florida Senate also took notice of his accomplishments. In response to Ward’s Heisman Trophy win and his efforts in the 1993 National Championship victory over Nebraska, the legislature issued two resolutions making its praise official. In the words of the Senate, “the Florida Senate, in company with his community, wishes to say ‘Way to Go, Charlie.’”
