THERE’S ONYI ONE HERMANN WINNER

Following the 2023 season, F Onyi Echegini solidified her place as the best women’s soccer player in the nation by winning the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy. A native of London, England, Echegini led FSU with 16 goals that year, matching the season-highs of FSU legends Dagny Brynjarsdottir and Sanna Tolonen. Her 37 points was also tied for the most by a Seminole in 2023. Echegini scored the decisive goals in the ACC Championship Game and added a goal and an assist in the College Cup Final, guiding FSU to the fourth National Championship in program history. With Echegini, FSU claimed four MAC Hermann winners, the third-most in women’s college soccer behind North Carolina and Stanford.
