THE CITY HANDS OVER THE KEY

This plaque commemorates the City of Tallahassee awarding a key to the city to the FSU softball team following their 2018 NCAA National Championship. The honor recognized Florida State’s first NCAA softball title and a postseason run that captivated the Tallahassee community. City officials joined players, coaches and supporters to celebrate a team that overcame adversity, fought through the Women’s College World Series loser’s bracket and delivered one of the most significant championships in school history. The key to the city symbolized not only a national title, but the pride and connection between the Seminoles and the city they represent.
