TANGERINE TRIUMPH
This autographed football commemorates FSU’s 40-17 victory over Texas Tech in the 1977 Tangerine Bowl, played on December 23 in Orlando, Florida. The ball is signed by members of the Seminole team that capped off the program’s first bowl appearance in six years with a dominant performance. QB Jimmy Jordan threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns, while WR Roger Overby caught two scores to earn MVP honors. The game was a statement win for Bobby Bowden, then in just his second year at the helm. It also marked the beginning of FSU’s rise as a perennial bowl contender. The signatures etched into the leather capture a proud moment in program history and the energy of a team on the rise.
