STEADY IN THE PAINT
Date: December 28, 2009
Sophomore C Cierra Bravard showed off her versatility during the 2009-10 season as FSU won another ACC regular season co-championship (shared with Duke). She recorded 10 double-doubles and had a knack for drawing fouls, going 64-of-94 from the free-throw line. She was one of only three Seminoles with at least 150 boards that season. Bravard recorded 10 points and a season-high nine rebounds off the bench in FSU’s victory over Mississippi State in the Sweet 16, helping the Seminoles to the first Elite Eight appearance in program history. At the end of her career, Bravard made a statement with 453 free throws made, the most since FSU Athletics Hall of Famer Sue Galkantas (485).
