HERE’S TO YOU, COACH SUE

If there was one thing FSU fans could rely on, it was Sue Semrau leading the Seminoles to a win. On February 13, 2009, No. 14 FSU stunned No. 8 North Carolina with a 77-70 victory at home, giving Semrau her 200th career win as a head coach. The win was especially meaningful coming against a powerful conference rival, marking the first time in four years the Seminoles had defeated the Tar Heels. Semrau arrived in Tallahassee in 1997 after a dreadful 5-22 season. Over 24 seasons at the helm, she rebuilt the program into a conference contender with two ACC regular season co-championships, 16 NCAA Tournament appearances and an all-time record of 470-271.
