SIMMONS MEANS STOP
Offenses didn’t just game-plan for NG Ron Simmons — they braced for him. FSU’s No. 50 was a nightmare in the trenches, delivering hits that left ball carriers dazed and quarterbacks desperate to escape. On October 29, 1977, in a dominant 35-14 win over North Texas State at home, Simmons racked up five sacks, a then single-game record. His performance helped establish the Seminoles as a rising national force, and his reputation as a wrecking ball in garnet cemented him as a college football legend. The bold collar design on this jersey reflects a player who didn’t just play with power, but also with punishing presence. Simmons would go on to compete as a professional wrestler with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
