THAT’S A LOT OF TOMAHAWKS
Date: 1980s
This helmet once sat atop one of the most iconic athletes in FSU history — Deion “Prime Time” Sanders. Wearing Garnet and Gold, Sanders lit up college football fields with unmatched swagger and game-changing ability, redefining the role of a cornerback. He started 37 games for the Seminoles and finished his college career with 14 interceptions, including three pick-sixes. His legendary speed was the stuff of myth: teammates and coaches have claimed he once ran a 4.17-second 40-yard dash. Whether or not the stopwatch agrees, everyone who saw him play agreed he was the fastest man on the field.
