SILVER ANNIVERSARY SLUGGER
In 2003, Dr. JoAnne Graf celebrated her silver anniversary as head coach. Her influence on the softball program was extraordinary. Dr. Graf led FSU to 25 straight winning seasons, two AIAW slow-pitch National Championships and 16 NCAA Tournament appearances. At that point, only four schools had made more Women’s College World Series trips than Dr. Graf’s Noles. The team finished the 2003 season with a 46-11 record, which included a 27-game win streak and another ACC championship. “Twenty-five years, that’s nice, but there are going to be a lot more years. There’s going to be a 26th year next year and a 27th year after that,” Dr. Graf said. “As long as I get nervous before the big games and still get excited with the big wins, then I will keep doing this.”
