SEMINOLE SILVER LINING
Date: May 5, 2018
On May 5, 2018, Mike Martin made college baseball history with his record-breaking 1,976th career win. Louisville Slugger honored his achievement with this custom Silver Slugger award. Martin was a crucial part of the Seminole baseball program for most of its modern history. He played center fielder from 1965 to 1966, joined the staff as an assistant coach in 1975 and became head coach in 1980. By the time Martin reached the NCAA all-time wins record, he had been involved in over 3,000 games out of the more than 4,000 in program history, as well as 46 seasons out of the program’s 71 years. “[Martin] literally transformed Florida State baseball into what it is,” said former OF J.D. Drew.
