ROQUE AND ROLL

Defending ACC Goalkeeper of the Year Cristina Roque protected the Seminole net historically well during the 2023 season. She started all 23 matches, posting a 22-0-1 record with 14 shutouts, a program record second only to Cassie Miller. During one stretch, Roque compiled 562:16 consecutive shutout minutes, while her 14 goals allowed resulted in a stifling 0.61 goals-against average. FSU pitched shutouts in five of six NCAA Tournament games, giving up just one postseason goal as the Seminoles clinched another National Championship — Roque’s second, after winning with the 2021 squad. By the time she left Tallahassee, Roque’s 17 career wins and 16 career shutouts in NCAA Tournament games were best in program history. She also had the second-most saves in NCAA Tournament games with 51.
