RIDING THE CHAMPIONSHIP HIGH

In the 2000 season, the Seminoles continued to ride high from their previous season’s National Championship victory. Senior QB Chris Weinke received the Heisman Trophy, becoming the oldest award winner at age 28, along with other top accolades. Weinke finished his Seminole career in the 2000 season as the team’s all-time leader in passing yards (9,839) and passing touchdowns (79).
