POSTSEASON PRODUCTION
The Seminole rotation got a boost when P Caylan Arnold transferred from Tennessee in 2020. As a starter in 2021, Arnold led the team with 140 strikeouts and posted a stingy 1.79 ERA. She appeared in six games in the 2021 postseason, earning her first playoff win in a 3-0 shutout over UCF in the Regional. On June 6, Arnold got the start against dominant No. 3 Alabama in the Women’s College World Series semifinals. She recorded five strikeouts and allowed just two hits in 4.2 innings of work. Her stellar play helped the No. 10 Noles to a 2-0 win — ending Alabama’s 20-game win streak — and kept FSU’s run to the National Championship alive. Arnold appeared in just 1.1 innings in the title series against No. 1 Oklahoma, but her efforts throughout the 2021 season put FSU in place to compete there.
