FSU’S HIT WOMAN
Date: June 8, 2023
Power-hitting CF Jahni Kerr fueled FSU’s offense en route to the 2023 Women’s College World Series (WCWS). A redshirt sophomore from Mableton, Georgia, Kerr led the Seminoles with a .356 batting average and finished second on the team with 68 hits. She even recorded hits in 16 games over a 17-game stretch that season. Kerr played a crucial role in FSU’s first WCWS win over No. 6 Oklahoma State, their first WCWS opening-round win since 2002. Kerr scored a run in the 3rd inning then hit an RBI single in the 6th as the Seminoles took the dominant 8-0 victory. Kerr had four hits over five games in the WCWS, where FSU ultimately fell to No. 1 Oklahoma in the title series.
