PASCHAL’S BROADER LEGACY
Date: 1980s to 1990s
Star forward Tia Paschal’s legacy wasn’t limited to her playing days at FSU from 1989 to 1993. After a successful career overseas in Germany, Spain and Sweden, Paschal was on the inaugural roster of the WNBA Charlotte Sting in 1998. The next year, she became the second women’s basketball player to be inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame, and in 2007, the program retired Paschal’s No. 30. Today, Paschal remains in the top 20 in program history in steals (269), points (1,660), field goals made (683), points average (14.3), rebounds (703) and games started (89, tied).
