KUIKKA’S DOMINANT DEFENSE
Date: 2018 Season
D Natalia Kuikka made program history by winning the 2018 Honda Sports Award, given to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports. She was the first FSU soccer player to take home the award. That season, Kuikka started in 24 games and was one of only four Seminoles with over 2,000 minutes played. She led a defense that allowed just 13 goals in 27 matches, a 0.47 percent goals-against average that ranked fifth best in the nation. Kuikka was also named a Second Team All-American by Top Drawer Soccer and a Third Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches that season.
