JEFFERS’ JOURNEY TO STARTER
Date: December 2, 2018
As FSU went deeper into the 2018 NCAA Tournament, GK Caroline Jeffers kept goals out of the Seminole net. Jeffers recorded three consecutive shutouts in the Elite Eight, Final Four and Championship Game to lead FSU to their second National Championship in program history. It was a remarkable run for the redshirt junior, who was a walk-on transfer from East Carolina. She became the team’s goalkeeper after starter Brooke Bollinger was injured in the ACC Championship Game weeks earlier. Jeffers would have six postseason shutouts over her career, joining the likes of Seminole legends Cristina Roque, Cassie Miller and Kelsey Wys.
