Florida Governor Jeb Bush and other state political leaders signed this resolution, which recognized coach Bobby Bowden and the Seminoles for “having a perfect season and for becoming National Champions of college football, thereby adding to the tradition of football excellence in the State of Florida.” It wouldn’t take long for the document to get to campus — the Florida State Capitol building and Doak Campbell Stadium sit less than two miles away!
