HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE

Midfielder Dagny Brynjarsdottir rose above a Virginia defender to win a header during the 2014 ACC Championship Game. A senior leader, Brynjarsdottir scored 16 goals during the season and was a consistent aerial threat in both attack and defense. No. 2 FSU edged No. 4 Virginia 1-0 in the College Cup Championship Game after adding another conference crown to the program’s growing résumé. In 2014, Brynjarsdottir was named a First Team All-American and the runner-up for the MAC Hermann Trophy. She also received Soccer America 2014 Women’s Player of the Year honors.
