GETTING TO THE POINT
Swedish forward Beata Olsson powered the Seminole offense throughout the 2023 NCAA Tournament with nine points (three goals, three assists). She scored goals in blowout victories over Morehead State and Texas, and added an assist in a tight 1-0 win over Texas A&M. Yet Olsson’s biggest performance came in the College Cup Final against No. 3 Stanford. Olsson netted one in the 58th minute to give the Seminoles a comfortable two-goal lead, then assisted on the final two goals of the game as FSU wrapped up a 5-1 victory for the trophy. Olsson, who led the team with 29 points in the 2021 National Championship season, won her second title as a Seminole. Her 18 career points (seven goals, four assists) in NCAA Tournament games remains in the program’s top 10 today.
