FULL ARMOR OF NO. 50
Date: 1970s, 1980s
From elbow pads to sweatbands, this gear belonged to FSU legend Ron Simmons, the nose guard who redefined dominance in the trenches. This rare set includes his shoulder, knee, shin and elbow pads and sweatbands, worn during a career that helped elevate the Seminoles to national prominence. On September 24, 1988, FSU retired Simmons’ No. 50 jersey. He was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on December 9, 2008. Today, Simmons remains one of the best in program history with 17 forced fumbles, 25 sacks, 44 tackles for loss and 383 total tackles.
