DRESSED TO THE NINES
Many college football fans remember star WR Peter Warrick for his 20-point performance in the 2000 Sugar Bowl. But his impact on Seminole football went beyond that single game, spanning a four-year career as one of the best wideouts to play in Tallahassee. Warrick remains in the top five in program history with 3,517 receiving yards, 207 receptions and 32 touchdown catches. In a 1997 victory over No. 16 Clemson, he became the first Nole to reach 249 receiving yards since WR Ron Sellers in 1968. Warrick was also named a consensus All-American in 1998 and 1999, leading the team in receiving yards in each of those seasons. FSU honored Warrick by retiring his No. 9 jersey on September 3, 2018, in a halftime ceremony against Virginia Tech — the same team Warrick and company defeated in the 2000 Sugar Bowl to take home the National Championship.
