COOPER’S ORANGE BOWL HAT TRICK

Down 26-14 with less than 12 minutes remaining, the No. 8 Seminoles stormed back to defeat No. 6 Notre Dame, 31-26, in a neutral-site 1996 Orange Bowl matchup. QB Danny Kanell sparked the 17-point fourth-quarter rally with touchdown passes to WR E.G. Green and WR Andre Cooper, then connected with Cooper on the go-ahead two-point conversion. Cooper caught three total touchdowns, while RB Warrick Dunn rushed for 151 yards. The comeback completed a 10-2 season, secured FSU’s 11th consecutive bowl victory and delivered a memorable finish to coach Bobby Bowden’s 1995 campaign.
