CENTURION COACH

Jan Dykehouse (later Jan Dykehouse-Allen) was named head coach of the Seminole women’s basketball team in May 1979. Over the next seven seasons, Dykehouse would lead the team to national prominence. She oversaw FSU’s first appearances in the NWIT (1982) and NCAA Tournament (1983) and guided the team to their first two 20-win seasons. Coaching FSU greats such as F Sue Galkantas, C Glenda Stokes and G Sheri Kaminski, Dykehouse became the first coach to amass 100 victories in program history.
