BARRON HOLDS THE LINE
These gloves evoke the dominance of OT Alex Barron, one of the most decorated linemen in FSU history. Barron was a cornerstone of the Seminole front line during the Bobby Bowden era. Known for his quick feet, long reach and powerful hands, Barron helped protect quarterbacks like Chris Rix and Wyatt Sexton and plowed running lanes for Leon Washington and Lorenzo Booker. The Orangeburg, South Carolina, native was selected 19th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. At 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds, Barron combined elite size with rare agility. He was a “dancing bear,” as players and coaches called him. These gloves symbolize the strength and skill it took to keep FSU’s offense rolling in the early 2000s.
